Don't cut Hydrangeas down to the ground, they will not bloom.  They need one full year to form a flower bud.

Read the tag for your annuals, they may require more or less water than others. For example Wave Petunias that don't like a lot of water.

Fertilize your annuals for the best show of color.

Water your lawn before it starts to dry out.

The two most important things you can do for your lawn are aerate and lime.

Grass should be cut no less than 3 inches high

Did you ever wonder what mulch is made of? This is a picture of a mulch manufacturer's faciliy in Telford Pennsylvania. When you buy cheap mulch, this is what you get. We only use pure bark hardwood mulch that we haul in from Lancaster PA. The mulch you see in this picture will never break down and has no beneficial nutrients for your plants. Our mulch breaks down in one year and improves the soil your plants grow in.

2-3 inches of quality hardwood mulch should be put on your flower beds each year.  A good mulch will break down into the soil.

New shrubs and trees need to be watered daily for 2 weeks then 3 times a week for 2 weeks. After one month, they need the equivalent of 1 inch of rain a week.

When watering your plants make sure you put down enough to get through the mulch to the plant.

New sod needs to be watered daily until it starts to root.
